- Changing bank accounts is quick and easy these days. All your standing orders and direct debits are automatically transfer for you.
- Banks often advertise their ‘free banking’ services, which works when you're in credit. Even then, most banks only pay 0.1% interest and charge 20% for overdrafts. Use comparison websites to shop around for the best deal.
- A couple of hours spent online could save you hundreds of pounds a month. When you apply for a new account the bank will carry out a credit check, to see if it wants you as a customer. You may be rejected for many reasons by one bank but others may accept you.
